Ghostly Ball of Light
Saturday - August 3rd, 2002
One of the last places someone would expect to have a paranormal experience would be a movie theater. There are however supposed reports of a few haunted theatres in the United States and around the world. The Bell Tower Theater in Fort Myers, Florida is not one of them that I am aware of. However, it was at this theater where Marc and I clearly saw with our own eyes a mysterious ball of light. Apparently, we were not the only people in the theatre that saw it.
Of all the movies for this to occur, it had to be during a late afternoon matinee showing of the new movie SIGNS starring Mel Gibson - a movie whose plot revolves around the infamous Crop Circle phenomenon. In some eyewitness reports, people claim to have observed luminous balls of light prior to the creation of a crop circle. That is what makes this sighting so interesting.
Mark and I arrived on time for the movie, but by the time we got into the theatre, the seats we would normally sit at were all taken. We ended up sitting in one of the outer rows of seats on the right side of the room. In order to see the screen, we naturally would have to look slightly to the left due to where we were sitting. At a particular point in the movie both he and I saw clearly with our own eyes, a luminous ball of light which seemed to appear out of nowhere about 15 feet or so above the audience and streak towards the screen and disappear. Mark and I saw the same thing at the same time, but our perception of the object's color differs slightly. What I perceived was a white light, Marc says he saw as light yellow.
Needless to say, we were both astounded, and it really distracted us a bit from the movie. After the movie ended, we discussed the ball of light that we saw. Marc said as we were leaving, he saw and overheard somebody pointing towards us saying "I think they saw it too." Apparently, we were not alone in our experience.
If we had been able to sit where we wanted too, we would not have witnessed the ball of light. I can't help but think that it was meant for us to see it, and that perhaps itself is some kind of sign. But a sign of what, I cannot say. The movie SIGNS itself ended in a way that portrays the idea that nothing happens by chance, and that everything happens for a specific reason. Perhaps, one day we will all find out the truth.
